The Nissan Qashqai e-Power is defined by the propulsion system, which is different compared to the usual hybrid, and which provides the driving experience closer to the one of electric cars. It also has a 191 hp electric motor that drives the car; it does not use the gasoline engine to drive the car, which is only used to produce electricity that will charge the battery.

The outcome is the same as an electric vehicle where there is the same driving experience and this produces instant, even acceleration, as opposed to the experience with the traditional hybrids. And as stated, being not just a standard electric car, it does not need any plugging or anything out of the ordinary to operate, you simply need to make sure you have gasoline.

Since the Qashqai with its e-Power tuning is now able to produce up to 205 horsepower on Sport mode, a 15 hp improvement and offer better responsiveness, by reducing its 0-100 km/h time to three-tenths of a second and dropping its average fuel consumption to 4.4 l/100 km. However, the optimization extends beyond performance and efficiency; hidden behind it all, the compact SUV possesses an architecture that is still under development and with which the capabilities are possible.

Nissan refers to it as the 5-in-1 which means smaller, lighter and more efficient. It involves the assimilation of the gasoline engine, generator, traction electric motor, inverter, and reduction/ multiplier all in one unit. This leads to a decrease in the weight of the vehicles, yet it increases the rigidity, and this is due to the structural unification. The same applies to the design of the system such as incorporation of electric batteries into chassis, where the Chinese brands such as BYD perform well.

The electric motor boosts its horsepower to 205 hp in the Sport mode, 15 horsepower above the last generation. This is a 7.6 seconds 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time which reduces the previous record by 0.3 seconds.

It has a battery of 205 hp driven by a generator that only requires gasoline to run. I would like to mention before proceeding with our trip that the interior of the Nissan Qashqai is one of the most pleasant interiors in the market, the quality is above average in relation to those of its competitors, the physical controls are sufficient, and the ergonomics is perfect. In addition, the screens are highly responsive and present abundant information. Indeed, the default integration of Google into the infotainment system is a highly successful one.

This creates a more nimble and lively Qashqai, with the instantaneous feedback of an electric car, and with the range and utility of a conventional gas engine vehicle.

The new e-POWER system is efficient in that it has a mean fuel consumption of only 4.4 l/100 km and a CO 2 emission of 100 g/km. The model has a range of more than 1, 200 kilometers without using fuel because of the 55 liter tank.
