2023 Nissan X-trail is a representative of the fourth generation, a 7-seater family SUV with increased parameters and an improved level of comfort and safety.
Outwardly, the car has a lot in common with the American Rogue crossover. Bright elements of the exterior are the headlights, which are divided into two segments. The massive V-Motion grille adds monumentality to the design. Massive rear struts show a strong character.

Aerodynamics have been improved by volumetric deflectors on the frontal part and the configuration of the front struts.
Thanks to the use of the CMF-C platform, compared to the previous generation, the car has increased in width and received more space in the cabin. Even visually, the car is strong and stable. The use of innovative technologies in production made it possible to achieve the optimal ratio of strength and lightness of the body.

Technical features

For the 2023 Nissan X-trail, the e-Power hybrid system is provided in the engine series. This setup includes a 3-cylinder, 140-horsepower VC-Turbo with a displacement of 1.5 liters, which is paired with an electric motor. A gasoline engine is used only to produce power, while an electric motor drives the car. The power plant has 12 V hybrid technology.
The all-wheel drive version is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 132 hp. In this case, both units work independently and implement the e-4ORCE system, which allows you to distribute the traction between the wheels. The gearbox is represented by a CVT.

The e-Pedal Step system makes driving in city conditions as comfortable as possible by switching between braking and acceleration with just one pedal.

Interior and equipment

In the interior of the car, the 12.3-inch instrument panel attracts attention. Multimedia is represented by a touch display with a diagonal of 12.3, and a projection screen with parameters of 10.8 inches is also provided. The image is displayed on the windshield. The system transmits information about driving, navigation, and entertainment.

Setup and control is available via the Apple Car Play and Android Auto apps.
The interior equipment corresponds to premium class models. The placement of buttons and controls is placed taking into account practicality and ergonomics.

Among the comfort systems, a high-quality Bose Premium audio system is presented. The model is equipped with the Safety Assist 360 all-round security system, the ProPILOT option package.
There is space for the third row of seats in the luggage compartment.

What type of CVT fluid does a 2023 Nissan X Trail require?

The 2023 Nissan X Trail requires Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-3 only, and it must never be mixed with other transmission fluids. Using any other type of fluid is not recommended and could lead to internal transmission problems, so always request this exact fluid by name at a dealer or workshop. Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) fluid, p. 440

Where is the key battery low warning displayed on the X Trail?

The X Trail shows this alert as an indicator light within the vehicle information display, letting you know the Intelligent Key’s battery has grown weak and needs replacing soon. Intelligent Key system, p. 155

How do I reset the oil maintenance reminder on a 2023 Nissan X Trail after an oil change?

How do I properly secure and test a child seat in a 2023 Nissan X Trail?

Installing a child restraint correctly means anchoring it tightly and then verifying it won’t shift before your child ever sits in it. Follow these steps to check the fit in a 2023 Nissan X Trail.

  1. Install the child restraint following the restraint maker’s instructions for either front-facing or rear-facing orientation
  2. Push the restraint side to side and tug it forward to test how firmly it’s held
  3. Confirm the restraint moves no more than 25 mm (1 in) in any direction
  4. If it shifts too much, tighten the seat belt further or try a different seating position and retest
  5. Keep the restraint secured with ISOFIX or a seat belt even when a child isn’t in it
  6. Adjust the seatback so it fully contacts the child restraint

Is there a way to tell my 2023 Nissan X Trail has detected a trailer hookup?

When a genuine NISSAN tow bar electrical kit is fitted and you use the turn signal switch, the 2023 Nissan X Trail senses the extra electrical load from trailer lighting and changes the direction indicator tone, confirming detection. Trailer towing, p. 392

What do I need to keep the high beam assist sensor working on my X Trail?

The X Trail’s ambient image sensor sits in front of the inside rearview mirror, so no special tools are required, just care around that area.

  • Keep the windscreen clean at all times
  • Don’t attach stickers or transparent material near the sensor
  • Don’t install accessories near the sensor
  • Avoid striking or touching the sensor lens
  • If damaged in an accident, have a dealer or workshop inspect it

On a 2023 Nissan X Trail, the LHD passenger compartment fuse box cover comes off directly after turning off the ignition and headlights, then you pull fuses with the puller. On RHD models, you first open the glove box, remove the fuse box cover inside it, and use the same fuse puller located as shown for LHD models.

Before fitting a restraint, verify it carries UN R44 or UN R129 approval and check that your child fits it properly using the maker’s adjustment guide. Also confirm the restraint works with the X Trail’s seat belt system and consult the fitment tables for approved positions.
