The Nissan Note E12 appeared on the car market in 2012. European customers were surprised by some changes to this model, such as a completely new front end, a different engine range, and an upgraded chassis setup which improved the car’s handling. The exterior has got some sporty details, and the car itself has increased slightly in size. The embossed bumper ensures safety for all passengers of the Nissan Note E12. It is able to pick up a person’s legs and drop the victim on the bonnet in case of an accident. The unusual shape of the headlights, coquettishly “staring” at the customer, is pleasing to the eye.

The front fascia is ergonomically contoured and the interior is made from quality materials. Useful options the future owner of this model will also find: climate control, upgraded steering wheel, equipped with buttons on the blocks, and controlling the comfort system and more.
Inside the car is a 1.2 litre petrol engine producing 98 horsepower.

Nissan Nissan Note E12 Owner’s Manual β€” Questions and Answers

Can I use a different CVT fluid than the recommended one in my Nissan Nissan Note E12?

Using any transmission fluid other than Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-3 in a Nissan Nissan Note E12 will damage the Xtronic transmission, and such damage isn’t covered under warranty. The fluid capacity is 6.9 L (6-1/8 qt), so always confirm with your dealer that it’s the genuine NS-3 formula before any refill or service. Owner’s Manual, p. 259

How do I set up a front-facing ISOFIX child seat in my Nissan Nissan Note E12 for the first time?

Position the child restraint on the rear outboard seat, then follow the manufacturer’s instructions closely.

  1. Position the child restraint on the seat
  2. Secure the child restraint anchor attachments to the ISOFIX lower anchors
  3. Press the restraint against the seat back, adjusting or removing the head restraint if it interferes
  4. Shorten the rigid attachment while pressing downward and rearward with your knee to compress the cushion and seatback
  5. Route and secure any top tether strap to the tether anchor, or use support legs if fitted instead
  6. Test the restraint by pushing it side to side and tugging forward before placing the child in it
  7. Recheck it is properly secured before every use, repeating the tightening steps if it feels loose

Owner’s Manual, p. 42

How can I tell that regular maintenance is actually keeping my Nissan Nissan Note E12 running properly?

You know it’s working if you notice no unusual sounds, vibrations or smells during driving. If any appear, check the cause immediately or have a Nissan dealer or qualified workshop inspect it before it becomes a bigger problem. Owner’s Manual, p. 226

Nissan Nissan Note E12 keeps needing coolant topped up, what’s wrong?

If the reservoir empties often or the coolant level drops repeatedly, the Nissan Nissan Note E12 owner’s manual says this points to a cooling system problem, not normal use. It advises having the system inspected by a NISSAN dealer or qualified workshop rather than just continuing to refill it yourself.

  • Coolant level below MIN in the reservoir
  • Petrol models: radiator also low when reservoir is empty
  • Cooling system frequently requires topping up

Owner’s Manual, p. 230

What steps are needed to set a cruising speed before letting go of the pedal?

First accelerate to the speed you want, then push and release the SETβˆ’ switch. The SET indicator light and set speed indicator will light up on the meter panel and information display, confirming the speed is locked in. Only then take your foot off the accelerator so the vehicle holds that speed on its own. Owner’s Manual, p. 184

What is the engine oil capacity for the HR12DE engine in a Nissan Nissan Note E12?

For a Nissan Nissan Note E12 with the HR12DE petrol engine, the oil capacity depends on whether the filter is changed during the service.

With oil filter 3.4 L (3 qt)
Without oil filter 3.2 L (2-7/8 qt)

Owner’s Manual, p. 258

Where are the lower anchor points for fitting a child seat located?

The ISOFIX anchors sit at the rear of the seat cushion near the seatback on the outboard rear seating positions, with a label on the seatback showing exactly where to find them. Owner’s Manual, p. 40

What tools are required to carry out general maintenance on a Nissan Note E12?

General maintenance on this car needs only minimal mechanical skill and a few general automotive tools you likely already own. It can be handled yourself, by a qualified technician, or by a Nissan dealer or workshop if preferred.

  • Minimal mechanical skill
