On a 2012 Nissan Rogue you can turn this feature on or off yourself. Close all doors, turn the ignition to ON, then within 20 seconds push and hold the power door lock switch to UNLOCK for more than 5 seconds. Cycle the ignition OFF then ON again before changing the setting a second time.
